MINNEAPOLIS, August 11, 2006 – Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. (Nasdaq Capital Market: GCFB) today announced that Daniel H. Bauer resigned as its Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer, effective August 11, 2006. He will continue to assist the Company through a transition period.
Steven J. Wagenheim, President of Granite City Food & Brewery, stated: "We regret the departure of Dan, who made significant contributions to our Company during his tenure and who also demonstrated a keen knowledge of our industry. We wish him well in his endeavors in the Atlanta, Georgia area."

He indicated to the Company that his resignation was motivated by his desire to remain in the Atlanta area where his family resides.
