Three More Openings Scheduled by Year End
MINNEAPOLIS, July 5, 2005 - Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. (Nasdaq: GCFB) announced the opening of its ninth restaurant/microbrewery today in Wichita, Kansas.
"Today's opening of our new restaurant in Wichita is the beginning of a very aggressive expansion schedule for us," said Steve Wagenheim, Granite City Food & Brewery's President and CEO. "We love our location," said Wagenheim, "and the excitement generated during mock-service over the last week was great. We are looking forward to doing a high volume business in Wichita and continuing expansion under our 4-6-8 plan."
Wagenheim said the company plans to open one Granite City Food & Brewery in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb of Eagan and two in the suburbs of Kansas City by year-end.
Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. currently operates nine Granite City Food & Brewery casual dining restaurants featuring made-from-scratch food and handcrafted beers. Its broad menu offers traditional and regional foods served in generous portions at reasonable prices, affording guests an excellent value and great dining experience. Its first Granite City location, in St. Cloud, MN, opened in June 1999. Subsequently, the Company opened restaurants in Sioux Falls, SD, Fargo, ND, West Des Moines, IA, Cedar Rapids, IA, Davenport, IA, Lincoln, NE, Minneapolis, MN and Wichita, KS.
