Founders Food & Firkins Continues Expansion Effort
Fargo is Company's Third Location

MINNEAPOLIS - November 26, 2001 - Founders Food & Firkins Ltd.(Nasdaq: GCFBU) opened its Granite City Food & Brewery to nearly 1,000 customers on its initial day of operations in Fargo, North Dakota.

"We are very exited with the great opening-day turnout, and based on customers' comments, we anticipate nothing but continued success," said Steve Wagenheim, Founders Food & Firkins' President and CEO. "We have a great location and are very pleased with the response we have received from the public and the press. I see this as another indication that Granite City Food & Brewery is absolutely right for Middle America. We are beginning to see the effects of multiple locations within the upper Midwest region from a brand-awareness perspective. This awareness will create strong branding of the concept, food and beer products. We look forward to our continuing growth and the corresponding recognition."

"This is our third opening," Wagenheim said, "but it is our first unit to fully utilize our new patent-pending brewing process, Fermentus Interuptus™. We are trucking an unfermented liquid called wort, from our Sioux Falls location. When we receive that liquid in Fargo, we begin the fermentation process and complete the brewing. We look forward to using Fermentus Interuptus™ at future Granite City Food & Brewery locations as well."

Founders Food & Firkins Ltd. operates three Granite City Food & Brewery casual dining restaurants featuring on-premise breweries. Granite City Food & Brewery provides fresh, high quality, made-to-order food and handcrafted beers, all made on site. Its broad menu offers traditional and regional foods served in generous portions at reasonable prices, affording customers an excellent value and pleasant dining experience. Its first Granite City location, in St. Cloud, MN, opened in late June 1999. Its second location opened in Sioux Falls, SD, on December 18, 2000, and its third location opened November 20, 2001 in Fargo, ND.
